Climate:
India is a vast country stretching
from the Himalayas to the beaches
of the Indian Ocean but generally
speaking October to March tend
to be the most pleasant months,
when it is relatively dry and
cool. There are three major seasons
- winter, summer and the monsoon.
Winter months (November-March)
are bright and pleasant, with
snowfall in the northern hills.
Summer time (April-June) is hot
in most parts of India. During
the monsoon, rainfall is heavy
along the west coast between June
and September, and along the east
coast between mid-October and
December. |

Clothing:
Lightweight cottons and linens
are advisable, with warmer clothes
for the evenings. We also suggest
you take a pair of sturdy walking
shoes. Hat, sunglasses and high
factor sunscreen are highly recommended.
When entering temples and other
religious sites, women should
cover their shoulders and shorts
should not be worn by either men
or women. You may also be required
to remove your shoes. |

Currency
& Exchange rate:
The currency is the Indian Rupee
(INR).
Approximate exchange rate £1 =
86 INR.
It is forbidden to take Indian
rupees in or out of the country.
Money can be exchanged on arrival
at the airport and at banks and
bureaux de change. Most major
international credit cards such
as American Express, Diners Club,
MasterCard, Visa and their affiliates
are accepted in most major cities.
ATMS are widely available in major
cities. |

Electricity:
220 Volts AC50Hz. Some areas have
a DC supply. |

GMT:
Local standard time is 5 ½ hours
ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT
+ 5.5). |

Health:
Although no vaccinations are required
to go to India, inoculations against
Typhoid, Diptheria and Hepatitis
A are advisable. Also anti malarial
tablets are recommended. For full
information, contact your GP or
a specialised vaccination clinic.

Passport/Visa
Information:
The name on your passport must
match your name on the ticket,
otherwise you may not be able
to travel and your insurance may
be invalid. It is your responsibility
to ensure the correct details
are advised to us at the time
of booking.
A standard ten-year British passport
is required which must be valid
for at least six months beyond
your planned date of return travel.
All visitors require a visa for
travel to India. |

Privacy
& Data:
We want all our clients to enjoy
completely successful holidays.
However, any client with a medical
condition or disability or dietary/religious
requirements must be aware that
information supplied to us will
be passed to other companies and
persons who supply the various
parts of our travel arrangements.
The suppliers may, depending upon
your choice of holiday, be based
outside the European Economic
Area where controls on data protection
may not be as stringent as in
our country. We will not, however
pass this information to any party
that is not responsible for your
travel arrangements. |

Clients
with Disabilities:
Please let us know at the time
of booking if you or anyone in
your party suffers from a serious
medical condition or physical
disability before a booking is
made, as we cannot provide individual
assistance with boarding coaches
or forms of transport, baggage
handling, walking or other personal
requirements etc. Clients should
be confident that they can do
the tasks unaided. We are happy
to give advice and assistance
which will be dependent on the
nature of the disability and whether
the person with the disability
is accompanied by an able bodied
person. Some suppliers may request
certification from your GP to
confirm that you are fit to travel
and we regret that we cannot be
held liable for any costs you
may incur as a result. Measurements
of wheelchairs must be given at
the time of booking. |
