As we headed off to Canada in September, I don’t think any of knew what to expect in this vast country and what experience of Canada we would have during our 18 day tour, start in Calgary, then up to Banff, Jasper before taking the Rocky Mountaineer train from Jasper to Vancouver and then to our final destination of Vancouver Island.

Due to popular demand we returned to South Africa in February, this time taking in the Drakensburg followed by Durban and then down to the very popular Cape Town, before having some R&R at the spectacular Victoria Falls in Zambia.

We departed UK on a cold winters evening from London on our Virgin Atlantic flight to Johannesburg,  Our coats and jumpers were not need until we returned as we hit the South Africa summer full on, as we made our way through to the Drakensburg Mountains and arrived at the  Nest hotel,  our home for the 4 days, this purpose built bowls and holiday venue, is ideal to pass the days away, with matches against the local Bowls Clubs and a friendly roll up (won by our drivers team), made this a perfect start to the tour.
