That's a wrap on my 2025/2026 over the past 16 months, time to spend a few months at home in my little village of Titchfield in Hampshire, England.
As always, I would like to thank my loyal travelling supporters, the players, and officials as we travel around the world together and for allowing me to tell the bowls story to the thousands of followers from the world Bowls family.
I am often asked why Sporting Highlights (Vision 4 Bowls) uses the phase ‘A picture tells a thousand words of a bowls match as it unfolds on and off the rink.’
Well, the art of storytelling is older than time itself and is the process of weaving language and images into a coherent narrative that allows audiences to experience events as if they were part of the story itself by engaging them from the start and keeps them returning for more,
For the past 18 years, I have watched hundreds – well probably thousands – of bowls matches around the world and the one thing in common until recently is players turn up, play bowls and leave and if you’re lucky, someone will put the final end score up on the board or you have to wait until the winner is announced to find out what happened, but whilst focusing on relatable experiences and struggles, you can make your audience feel connected to the narrative by using photos, short videos clips and the written word which brings it to life making the event more memorable.
Since the World Bowls Championships 2012, we have prided ourselves of delivering a reliable media/photo service at many of the top bowls events allowing us to share thousands of photos and stories to the World Bowls family and social media platforms – when you change the angle, you change the view by engaging with your loyal and supportive new audience around the globe.
I am proud to say I was there at many of the top events over the last 14 years and have made many friends on and off the green covering these events and “It’s what’s on the other side of the camera that counts”
Thanks to everyone who has said hello and commented on the photos and as my motto says: ‘Teamwork is the key to success’.
